LawNow Celebrates 30 Years  - October 2005

With the publication of the October/November 2005 volume of LawNow, the magazine will enter its 30th year of publishing. LawNow has grown from the 12-page newsletter format of the October 1976 to a suite of services and materials that includes a full-color 48-page print magazine plus website access and email updating service which provides up-to-date information and commentary on current legal issues. It strives to provide credible legal information, interpretation, and comment to help Canadians understand legal issues, and to make meaningful contributions to the democratic life of their community and country. LawNow remains the only plain language magazine aimed at providing Canadians with understandable information about the law and its relation to everyday life.

The publication team includes lawyers, writers, law librarians, educators, and editors. Articles are written by volunteers. LawNow is funded through subscription fees, advertising revenue, grants, and donations.

If you would like to send a congratulatory message to LawNow, email us at lawnow@ualberta.ca. We would like to post your message on our website.
